Tennessee Titans (1-1) vs. Cleveland Browns (1-1)
As the NFL season heats up, two middling teams aim to tip the scale in their favor this week. Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, both sporting 1-1 records entering Week 3, meet in an exciting Week 3 clash that could set the tone for both seasons ahead. It offers fans an ideal time and place to consider NFL picks and predictions.
As you consider the Tennessee Titans’ performance to date, it’s hard to overlook their highs and lows. Starting with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, his completion rate stands at 62.1%, which is fairly respectable, and he has amassed 444 passing yards over two games. But some red flags exist regarding Tannehill’s turnovers which has already led to three interceptions as well as eight sacks taking their toll both personally and on team drives. Derrick Henry, another cornerstone of the Titans’ offense, can still make strides forward this season. Renowned for his game-altering running ability, Henry has yet to find his rhythm this season and only averaged 143 yards over two games at an average 3.6-yard per carry rate – not exactly impressive considering he set such high standards himself. If they want to compete against Cleveland Browns again this time around, Henry must rediscover his explosive form, breaking through defensive lines with ease while making those crucial plays that turn momentum back their way.
The Cleveland Browns find themselves in a similar predicament to that of the Titans, with quarterback Deshaun Watson still adapting to his new environment despite joining just recently. His completion rate stands at 55.1% and he’s amassed 389 yards through two games he played for them. Much like Tannehill, Watson needs to cut down on mistakes; two interceptions have already clogged his stat sheet this season, while nine sacks indicate either improvement on either his offensive line or quicker disposal from him for him to avoid negative plays that would otherwise ensue. Running back Nick Chubb has been the star performer for the Browns so far this season. Amassing 170 rushing yards at an impressive average of 6.1 yards per carry, Chubb has provided the much-needed offense for them so far. Unfortunately, however, he still hasn’t scored yet; something which Chubb will look to change against Titans this coming Thursday night. Should Watson continue underperforming significantly, Chubb’s ground game may help establish offensive stability and possibly tip the scales towards winning for Cleveland.

Ryan Tannehill QB vs Deshaun Watson QB
Ryan Tannehill has completed both games this season with a 62.1% completion rate, throwing for 444 yards. While he threw one touchdown, his 3 interceptions and 8 total sacks have caused his passer rating to drop to 69.9. Normally known for his decision-making skills, Tannehill appears to be feeling pressure lately which may have affected his recent performances.
Deshaun Watson has done similarly well since joining the Browns this season, completing 55.1% of his passes for 389 yards while throwing two touchdowns and two interceptions with an identical passer rating to Tannehill at 69.1. Though Watson is known for making plays out of nothing with his unique skillset, this year seems more about accuracy issues or adapting to his new system than anything else.
