The Redskins extended LB Ryan Kerrigan’s contract for several years, securing him as the team’s most important pass-rusher. Pay per head sportsbooks see this as a great move by the team, and the fans are delighted.
According to sources, the contract will run for 5 years and is set to have a value of $57.5 million, as well as a guaranteed $16 million.
Kerrigan, who’s 6-feet-4 and weighs 260 pounds, played for Purdue and was picked in the first round in 2011, playing as a starter in all of the 64 meetings that took place in his four years with the Redskins. He recorded a total of 15 forced fumbles, 38 sacks, as well as 2 picks, which were returned for TD’s.

It appeared to be very clear that the Redskins had plans for Kerrigan to get a very important extension to his contract once they let LB Brian Orakpo leave the team as a free agent during the offseason. Orakpo joined the Titans.
Since he entered the league as a 16th overall draft pick, Kerrigan was once an option for the Pro-Bowl, and his outside rush presence proved to be very dependable. While playing as a rookie, the player was able record 7.5 sacks, and in the following couple of seasons the number went up to 8.5 before last year, when his production on the field was at its best.
Signing the player again was a priority for Washington, and now many fans and pay per head sportsbooks are expecting them to reach a deal with LT Trent Williams – another Pro-Bowler – and this contract should also go for several years.
On Wednesday, the team’s players have been scheduled to show up in camp for conditioning tests before Thursday, when they’re set to have their first practice and walkthrough.
